What I Say:

I decided to read this book (finally) because I was going to meet Erin at an author/blogger meet up and thought it would probably be a good idea. I really have no idea why I hadn't read Somewhere Only We Know before now. It really was so good! I can't believe I didn't meet Alex and Nadia for such a long time.

Erin is a fantastic storyteller! Her character development is among the best I've read. I honestly felt that Alex, Nadia, Holly, Ledge, Rory, Lila and Caro were becoming a part of my life. I even messaged Erin at one point because I didn't like a character called Monty. The flow and journey in this book is so easy and natural that it was easy to get lost in the moment. Each day, each location was perfectly described and I felt I was there with them. Conversations were so natural,witty and easy to follow.

Nadia's plight was one I kind of understand. I really felt for her, knowing that her fate hangs in the hands of some nameless, faceless government body. I rooted for her and was on the edge of my seat until the very last page. Emotions ran high for me and I really liked that feeling!

All in all, Somewhere Only We Know is one of the most real, beautiful, emotional yet funny books I have ever read! 9/10

I am off to read The Best Thing I Never Had now!

Blog Tour Stop with Review of A Truth For A Truth by Carol Wyer

  First off, I must apologise to Zoe and Carol. My blog tour stop was yesterday, and somehow my post got lost in the ether. I didn't notice until today, as thr hubby hasn't been well, and my time has been taken up with my dogs and caring for hubs. So, a day late and pared down from my original post due to lack of time, here is my review of A.Truth For A Truth by the wonderful Carol Wyer. Review: What can I say?? Any book by Carol Wyer is going to be a hit in my opinion, and this is no exception. DI Kate Young is a flawed character who is full of heart and humility. I think she's been dealt a shit hand in life, and struggles to figure out her path. Traumas and dramas, untrustworthy men, and unstable mental health make her slightly difficult to bond with sometimes. But still, I care a lot about her wellbeing. This installment of her series is really compelling, and an interesting take on a "who dunnit". More of a "who will they THINK dunnit"! I loved that!
