What I Say:

First off I want to say a massive Thank You to Paige Toon, I had the pleasure of meeting her at a book signing in Manchester (where part of the book is set) last weekend and she was lovely! So kind and chatty and full of good advice. I actually left in tears. Beautiful lady!

The One We Fell In Love With is a fantastic read! I absolutely adored the characters, all of them! I felt drawn to the girls and really cared what happened to them, like they were actual friends. I loved their Mum and also Angus' Mum, Judy. Made me think of my own Mum fondly.

Angus, what can I say about Angus? I have a picture of him in my head and I must say, I like what I see. He is a genuinely lovely man and I wanted the best for him. And Toby. Oh, what a doll! I want a Toby. Or an Angus. Either way...

I identified with something in each of the main female characters. Phoebe is strong and determined,. Eliza is free-spirited and protective, Rose is kind and caring. I instantly liked each of them for different reasons. Paige has a great way of drawing you in and making you visualize while you're reading. I felt like I was on the mountain in Chamonix, in the bar at the Gotham hotel and I could smell the artisan bread in the bakery.

What a wonderful experience to read a book and feel so immersed in the story that nothing else matters. This was a first for me. I didn't pick up my phone once I'd settled in to read. I didn't need music on or get fidgety. My anxiety slipped away and I felt peaceful while I read. This book was a joy to get lost in. It really was. My best friend and I read it together (thanks for signing Tracey's book too, Paige!) and had a good chat about it after we finished, which was fab!

So, I would highly recommend this book! Put aside a few hours and just read it. I laughed, I cried, I sighed and I awwww'd. You won't want to put it down. One of my new favourite books by an author I am even more excited to read now!

This is an emotional, compelling, sweet, funny and touching book! 10/10

Blog Tour Stop with Review of A Truth For A Truth by Carol Wyer

  First off, I must apologise to Zoe and Carol. My blog tour stop was yesterday, and somehow my post got lost in the ether. I didn't notice until today, as thr hubby hasn't been well, and my time has been taken up with my dogs and caring for hubs. So, a day late and pared down from my original post due to lack of time, here is my review of A.Truth For A Truth by the wonderful Carol Wyer. Review: What can I say?? Any book by Carol Wyer is going to be a hit in my opinion, and this is no exception. DI Kate Young is a flawed character who is full of heart and humility. I think she's been dealt a shit hand in life, and struggles to figure out her path. Traumas and dramas, untrustworthy men, and unstable mental health make her slightly difficult to bond with sometimes. But still, I care a lot about her wellbeing. This installment of her series is really compelling, and an interesting take on a "who dunnit". More of a "who will they THINK dunnit"! I loved that!
